Pro class was unreal, 10 people deep, as intense as you can imagine. What the announcer RT stated sums it all up perfectly, “We're going to run them until they’re done!” and big moves got thrown down. Nik Muryn hung five around the entire deck of the park, and combined with whips, big airs, he ties for third. George Bolter rode like a local with huge airs, transfers, and just generally killed it. Tie him for third as well. Wade llajlar (macneil, etnies, LRG) was throwing down his huge signature flairs, but throwing a toboggan in the middle of them for fun. Second place! First place? Jason Teet got it again at his home park. Huge rail manual, first 180ing over the big fence, and then, what the hell, throw in a 360 for good measure. Sturdy wrists indeed! I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, please hook this guy up, he kills it (and himself) and deserves some flow.
Random events happened as well, and we couldn’t leave any of those out: Mc frogger (Jason Enn’s favourite mc) took third in the good class. Stoked! Announcer RT was told he looked like a young riders father, but the way he looked like when he was in high school in the early 80’s…hesh!
From the windows to the walls? “Jason Skeet Skeet Skeet just jumped over Sam Lowe’s Hernia!” best bmx comment ever made in an event in Canada. Truth. Thank you little Jon. Veteran Canadian vert rider, Mel Gooder, not only judged the event (along side an injured Sam Lowe [wtp, primo, etnies] and J from feeblebmx.com) but shredded hard in the over 30 class. Combine that with his daughter’s renegade lemonade stand, and it's win win for everyone there! Product toss at the end got out of control when $150 cdn pedals start getting thrown out. Stoked and bruised kids, a ton of gear to give out, a little heat stroke, combine it all, and you’ve got mayhem.
We’ll see you at Lafarge Park, Coquitlam BC, on July 26th! (And if you’re from out of area, think Osato’s famous sequence of the whip to manual, to whip back in. yep, that’s the park) big thanks to all our sponsors: etnies, LRG, dragon optical, Haro, Premium, TSG, and 3ride bmx shop.
