For the third time the FSO JAM was held on the 20th of August. Even though the weather gods seemed to have different plans for the day, a group of around 60 riders showed op at the Central Station. When we all got our shit together and the first beer of the day down us, we set off for an exploration of our nations capitols best street spots. Amsterdam does not offer you typical street spots and some of the spots provided a real challenge to some. To avoid a rundown of all the stops made and tricks pulled I will just sum up a few of the highlights of the day. For me the trick of the day was done by Rutger Pauw at the Amstel long ledge. This ledge is around 50 meters long, starts off at a good 80 cm above the ground and has a 3 meter or more drop in the beginning, 2 Years ago Rutger almost pulled it but ended up over the bars with a split knee, this year he pulled it clean.. and brakeless.

Other highlights of the day: The kinked Amstel ledge and the feeble attempts that send a few riders flying down the steps in awkward positions. The icepick pulled by Daniel on the top of the back wall of the ridiculous steep Soulcycle mini ramp. And last but not least the Marnix Pool..Barry, Mark, Daniel 1 and 2 and Maiten showed us all what was up with a combo of flow and tech (and yes a backflip...) In the evening most of us went to the Bitterzoet where the winners of the day where announced and handed prices from the sponsors FSO, RDLFS, Soulcycle and Pauls Boutique. After this people could watch some BMX DVD’s, listen to some good music and get rid of that last bit of adrenalin by sessioning the special build quarter to wall. After seriously ripping the quarter to pieces (no seriously, it was wrecked!) the party then moved downstairs where a few die hards finished the day of in style....wild style that is.. Overall I think that everybody who showed up had a good day and that the FSO Jam was again a great day to meet new and old friends and ride that stupid bike... So? What’s in store for 2006?... MvT.
