working hard getting a place to ride for the Eindhoven locals and it was good to see that so many people showed up at the opening jam.
So how did the place look? Let's start by saying it was dry and warm inside, a big bonus this time of the year. The ramps are well built and basically it's a wall on one side, a wall of quarters on the other side and a jump box/spine in the middle with a grind box on the side. Maybe not the most revolutionary park set-up but for sure it does the job and people were riding, and having fun.
Ripping on the first night were a.o. Daniel Wedemeijer who footjammed on the big wall and used that speed to go big over the box with 3-whips, 360 turndowns etc. Roy van Kempen was ripping on the grind box and the Belgian train of Nico Vink, Sig Cools, Greg van Tulder and Sven Grieten did many laps. But everyone got their riding in as the session was mellow and there was no pressure. Even when the box of prizes came out and Joeri got on the mic, you did not have to go crazy to "win" something. All you had to do is wear yellow jeans, do the first toe jam, find a decent line, sing a song, or something along those lines. Joeri kept it fun and the "Action Man" went to Daniel Wedemeijer. Having stuff to give away at a jam is kind of unnecessary as it's a "jam" and not a contest but who doesn't like to get something for free? The sponsors of the event were Snafu, Vans, Paul's Boutique, Simple and Monster Energy and some of the 100 riders went home with a new pair of shoes, pegs for their bikes, new handlebars or something along those lines while everyone had free access to a round of Monster.
The BMX opening hours of The Building from now on are as follows:

P.S. Pim and his dad would like to thank everyone for showing up. They'd also like to thank the sponsors for the event, the people at Gemeente Eindhoven and The Building and everyone who helped out making this possible.
