Red Bull Featured. DYFI Bike Park, Mid-Wales. Friday 13th. In BMX Freestyle you can do anything you like. Bas Keep thought the same and had Red Bull backing him up with the Red Bull Featured pilot event. The ramps were built up inside The Mill at the DYFI bike park over in Wales. Getting there was a mission for pretty much everyone as everyone had the chance to see the Wales countryside for the last two hours before arriving at the destiny for the event. Once there, and with everyone around, you become one with the place instantly. The riders had had a few days of practice behind them before the first drop-in was made on `featured day’.
The set-up was pretty wild, yet fairly simple. The drop-in reminded me of the movie rad but was missing the Welcome To Helltrack logo on it. It was steep, high and gave you enough speed to go nuts on the biggest box in BMX history (pretty much). The box was put in the middle with two 7,5 meter long driveways right next to it that lead to a 10 ft quarterpipe into a mellow 15ft high quarter landing. There was a reason for a set up like this. It invites for big tricks without landing flat and to progress in BMX Freestyle, sometimes the right set-up is what’s missing.
Red Bull Featured was split in 4 different rounds being a high air competition, a box competition, quarter to big landing competition and a sub box was brought in for Round 3.

What a way to end the season! Monster Energy congratulates team rider Daniel Sandoval on claiming the overall series win in the 2022 Monster Energy BMX Triple Challenge on Saturday. At the final stop of the competition series in Denver, Colorado, the 27-year-old from Corona, California, took second place in BMX Dirt to finish the season at the top of the leaderboard. Sandoval also soared above the competition in the Best Trick event and claimed the win.
“Winning the overall title feels pretty good and I’m just happy with the drive I’ve had lately to want to push hard. And to show up and have a trick list so big it’s hard to pick which ones will work for the weekend,” said Sandoval upon winning the 2022 Monster Energy BMX Triple Challenge series title.
A lot of BMX action could be witnessed this past weekend in Vilnius, Lithuania. Simple Session qualifications were held at Kablys Skatepark in order to decide who will be going to Tallinn. Two top riders were chosen. Erikas Majauskas - young gun from small town named Alytus got the first spot. Consistent, technical run and huge barspin drop at the end guaranteed him the win. The second spot went to Lukas Žukauskas - the guy that can be seen riding daily, working on the craziest tech lines you could imagine. The third went to Grigas Dobrovolskas, a lot of smooth lines came from this guy too. It is the first time going to Simple Session for both of the guys and the excitement is high.
Future BMX event was held at the same time in order to give an opportunity for the young talent to show their skills. A mixed group of boys and girls was ripping the park. The first spot went to Neilonas Kaveika, Marceau Guenec got the second and Ugnė Barbaravičiūtė got the third.
Special prize went to Milana Medvedskytė.
This was the first event involving Lithuanian BMX Association (Lietuvos BMX Dviračių asociacija). Compiled of true BMX riders with the lead of David Budko they will try to push the Lithuanian BMX
