8X BMX World Champion Matthias Dandois shares the story of how he nearly lost the 'once in a lifetime' role on a feature film due to an unbelievable ankle infection!
I've always been a huge soccer fan, so when I got the crazy opportunity to have the legendary Orange Velodrome stadium for myself I loved every minute of it! What a sick playground!
Paris is the most visited city in the world and is always full of energy and surprises. The streets that were once full of cars, tourists and pedestrians suddenly became quiet and empty in November.
BMX Flatland like you've never seen before!
6 min of BMX Flatland tricks I have never done before. Filmed over the past 8 months in New York, Paris, Geneva and Saint Raphael. Some of those clips took way too many tries hence the self filming.
Matthias Dandois takes his fluid blend of BMX flatland and street riding to the diverse landscape of NYC. Shot over a couple mild pre-Covid winter afternoons, Matthias connects select pieces of the city in a way only he can.
Terry Adams came from nothing and became a legend. His exceptional career started in Louisiana and brought him two NORA Cup Number One rider awards, multiple XGames medals and many more awards. For me he is the definition of a self-made pro rider.
If BMX had 100 riders like Matthias Dandois, the popularity of BMX would rise to a bigger level. Matthias' spirit, drive and enthusiasm is unheard of. He gets the attention he deserves but also takes the opportunities that are needed to get in the picture. Sometimes it might be out of the comfort zone, but for Matthias it lead to acting in a movie and getting the cover of GQ magazine. It is hard to keep up with Matthias and we're stoked he found some time to get back to us to answer some questions.
Last contest you entered: Chimera Games in Japan end of February 2020
