In a breath taking final, Australian Ryan Guettler wins the Braun Spine contest at the UK Bike Show to become the first leader of the Braun cruZer Tour ranking. Stoneleigh, UK – 03 April 2005. 39 riders representing 11 nations gathered at the 2005 UK Bike Show for the first contest on the world’s largest mobile mini-ramp. The 250m2 ramp, designed by Peter Jandt and Stephan Prantl, features a 2m high (6.6 feet) spine which proved to be a challenge even to the very best, amongst whom Ryan Nyquist multiple X Games winner as well former world champion Dave Osato.

Weil am Rhein/Germany, 26.-27.02.2005, Carhartt Skatepark From Italy, Swiss, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria and of course Germany over 100 bmx riders made their way to Weil am Rhein to ride the infamous Carhartt Skatepark for the first time and to witness the premier of the Carhartt Ravage Tour 2004 DVD in the convention center, next to the skatepark. Without exception and doubts every rider was truly impressed by the facility and the quality of the ramps. Some of them even said: "The miniramp is the pure sex!!"

Front Brake Revolution, Rampage Jam 2005 -By Ben Foakes- The second FBR Jam just took place at Rampage Skate park, Davenport, Iowa, USA. The event brought together the greatest front brake tech riders from around the globe to bid farewell to the legendary skate park that has served the mid-west BMX and skate scene loyally for the past 16 years.

It's not so much of a problem here in Europe but Northern America faces serious shit where BMX bikes are not allowed in the public skateparks. To help change that, several volunteers are doing their best to make people aware that BMX IS NOT A CRIME. Anyway, Dan Haugh over at Transfer BMX is one of the BMX-ers that needs your support. He is collecting petitions so get the bikes in the Sequim park. Visit his site, fill in the form and send it to him. It's a few minutes of your time which isn't too much to ask for if you love riding your bike and want to support BMX. You might end up in Sequim some day.

Red Bull Drenaje, Mexico, 2005 On Saturday 26th February, Mexico played host to ‘Red Bull Drenaje’, a truly unique BMX competition that saw 44 International riders, battling it out to win a slice of the $30,000 pesos prize fund. Last 'ditch' attempt!

Barry Kohne and Dwayne Verkade are organizing a 3 series BMX street competition over in Holland. Round one took place on Saturday 12 March at the Promise park over in the South of Holland. With the park located 10 minutes from the German and 10 minutes from the Belgian border, it saw some strong interest of these two countries. In fact, after the 8 groups of 3 pro riders finished the jam session format qualifying, 7 Germans and 1 Belgian had to ride once more in the XL Series finals. If you're not aware of the Promise park, it has something for everyone. It has spines, ledges, sub boxes, jump box, wallride, rails and a pyramid with plenty of transfer possibilities. Barry had another crazy fufanu beam installed for this contest but in the end it wasn't even touched.

The Expert class at the Soulcycle XL-series started off an hour late at 13:00 hours. Still some riders did not arrive in time which shows once again that it's hard to start off a BMX freestyle contest in the morning. The max capacity of 50 entries was reached and every rider got one run to try to qualify for the finals. 15 riders out of the 50 were taken and we saw some very good talent in the expert class finals. It was sad to hear that for some people it takes complaining and video footage to convince an organization that the rider belongs in the final, but it happened. They're in there for the wrong reasons. Winning isn't everything, having fun is. A lot of German riders had plenty of fun. X Martin X (Sponsored by Durex) and Captain Dotterbart (with the most Neon front wheel ever) understood what the comp was about. Dotterbart even made the final and scored third place with a huge wallride and plenty of grinds on the rail. 5th place went to Leroy Kleppe, the Belgian kid with the white helmet who did
