The Simple Session has developed into a contest that nobody wants to miss. Making it on the riders list is not an easy task. You need to prove yourself to be added to ride the contest. A lot of first time riders this year. FATBMX is catching up with them. Today we present: Felix Prangenberg, age 15 from Roßbach/Germany. The Red Bull Phenom X-games winner is sponsored by Nike, Premium BMX, Parano Garage, Schwalbe Tires, Shokomonk, POC Body Armor, and Vodafone Shop Neuwied so he'll be talking to his fans from Tallinn on that slick phone.
When did you first hear about the Simple Session? Felix Prangenberg: I’m not that sure. But I think in 2006/2007 when I watched the
Soul BMX DVD. Did you have to look on a map to find out where Estonia actually was? Felix Prangenberg: I always wanted to go to Simple Session so I looked on the map a few years ago..
Now you’re on the riders list, how does that make you feel?
Felix Prangenberg: Real good! Always wanted to go to Simple Session. Now it’s happening!
What was your first impression when you saw the drawings of the 2014 course? Felix Prangenberg: The park is awesome! It includes everything you need! Can’t wait to ride the park!
When do you first get to ride the set up? Any obstacle in particular that you want to hit up first thing? Felix Prangenberg: I’ll be there Wednesday night, so I think on Thursday.
Making finals will be tough in a strong field like this. How do you see your chances? Felix Prangenberg: I’ll ride as usual and than we see how I’ll end up. But I think that I’ll not make it to the finals. Too many good riders! But the main point is just having fun with all these dudes!
With the live webcast thousands of people will be watching you ride, plus about 2000 pretty girls will be there in person. Are you getting nervous yet? Felix Prangenberg: A bit. But when you are just before the contest it will look differently!
Who is your pick for first place this year? Felix Prangenberg: Garrett Reynolds.
Do you have any people you want to thank for making it to Simple Session 2014? Felix Prangenberg: Yeah, huge thanks to Achim Kujawski/Nike!
