It seems this happens all our life but Jr. High and High School present us with plenty of opportunities to go down the wrong path. I hate to see the genius in kids smothered by advertisements and society. Be your own hero.
How many will be printed?
Parker: The bigger question is how many will get read! The first order is for a couple hundred books. I hope those get read by bikers, skaters, and people that want a good motivating story that they can relate to .
Do you have distribution all set up?
John Parker: Haha.... I'm cleaning the garage out now! I will be personally mailing out every book and poster to get things started. I welcome any international interest in helping though!!!
When will it be available?
John: You can buy the book now but they won't ship until February 20, 2015. The first 200 hundred orders get a free poster.
Will it have an ISBN number so people can order it, or at least find it?
John Parker: You can find it at www.StuntMasters.net I may do the Amazon / Kindle thing.
What was the best part of getting to write a book?
John Parker: Being able to reach out to a huge audience and putting good thoughts into people's head. Turning Positive Thoughts into Purposeful Action!
Can you tell us in short what it is about?
John: StuntMasters is the story of 12 year old, Levi Kraft and his struggle to make sense of the crazy world around him. Finding little purpose in the daily routine of life his thoughts often wander to more exciting places. He falls in with friendly cohorts to suffer through his days until a mystery BMX rider blasts onto the scene at the bus stop. This after school daredevil captures Levi's heart, mind, and dreams with BMX riding. Suddenly he has a reason to care about the people and events that swarm around him. Bit by bit he wakes to a world he never knew existed. With the help of a BMX bike, a skater kid, and some other odd characters he begins to learn that he has special powers of his own; powers of positive thoughts turned into purposeful action. Follow and laugh along as Levi discovers the meaning of the StuntMasters, the identity of the mystery rider, and perhaps the secret of life.
Did you get help from anyone finishing it?
John Parker: I've had a few people of all ages proof reading and editing. I'm hoping it appeals to anyone over the age of 10! -- Andrea, Jacob, Joleen, gOrk, Jack.... everyone I've met in the last 20 years had a hand in someway..haha.
Holy cow! on the cover....by gOrk?
John Parker: Yes, gOrk! Otherwise known as Craig Barrette. He has been great to work with. I gave him the part of the book that the cover was inspired by and he did the rest. Not only is he a great artist with his roots in BMX but ha also 'gets' what the story is about.
Last words: Be careful of who and what you listen to. What goes on in your mind has a way of materializing so take responsibility for your thoughts as well as your actions.
