What's on the agenda for Saturday?
Daniel Wedemeijer: Hopefully the weather will be good so I can go for a chill and relax Mountainbike ride. Around 12 I will go to the Gelredome in Arnhem to meet up with the Nitro Circus crew. During afternoon there will be some practice and I will do a little live stream on my Twitter so the fans can see what's going on during practice. The evening is planned to ride the Nitro Circus live show so a pretty awesome day I think...
It's your second time doing shows with Nitro, but the first time without the big roll-in. How much practice are you going to get with the tow-in?
Daniel Wedemeijer: As far as I know there will be a 90 minutes practice before the show. Hopefully this will give me enough time to get used to the tow-in.
How is your shoulder holding up so far after being off the bike for a while last winter?
Daniel Wedemeijer: It's getting better everyday... I have been working out at Sport Medisch Centrum Amsterdam twice a week to get back in shape. It's not 100% healed up yet but good and strong enough for riding at 040 BMX park everyday.
When it's showtime, how hard is it to block things off and focus on the tricks you need to do?
Daniel Wedemeijer: I mean with my shoulder it's still hard to fully commit to some big tricks. So this is something which is still hard to deal with. But I know once it's showtime this memory's will be gone for a moment. Time to send it!
You did a pre-promotion Nitro Circus demo and Travis Pastrana came over for that. How crazy was that?
Daniel Wedemeijer: Knowing Travis Pastrana is pretty rad already. I mean he is in my eyes the biggest action sports athlete ever and someone really motivating. Working and hanging out with him during the promotion for Nitro Circus live show was pretty awesome. All round good vibes and can't wait to ride the show with him on the 20th of February.
Travis is known for pushing people to do new tricks but also pushes himself to step things up. What did you think of his Aussie Roll he did on a bike recently?
Daniel Wedemeijer: Still speechless... Are there words for the fact that he isn't a Mountainbiker and goes for one of the biggest tricks? Unbelievable he is still doing big things like this. Hopefully he will grab a bike to show it in the Netherlands.
Getting to ride a big set-up like this doesn't happen every day. Do you think bigger ramps are the future?
Daniel Wedemeijer: There have been a couple events over the past years like Red Bull Skylines and Framed Reaction that had big ramps. For me this is what I want; big ramps, big gaps and even bigger fences for fufanu's. I think it's just a matter of time and you will see more and more big ramps like the one at Nitro Circus.
Would you be into competing at the Nitro World Games this summer?
Daniel Wedemeijer: Not sure about that yet as my focus is really on the Fise World Tour and some big projects I am working on. But yeah maybe you will see me there.
What can the Dutch crowd expect this upcoming Saturday at the Gelredome in Arnhem?
Daniel Wedemeijer: Big tricks, new tricks and an awesome all round action sports show you will never forget. Cheers see ya Saturday. It ain't much if it ain't Dutch.
Thanks to: The people behind the Red Bull Canal jump in 2013 which got me a spot on the Nitro Circus live show. And of course all my other sponsors and family for believing in me.
