Next to Park, this edition also has BMX Flatland and BMX Street. Who are your favourites to win in each class?
Daniel Wedemeijer: To be honest I am so looking forward to see Red Bull's Matthias Dandois and Terry Adams at the BMX Flatland comp. But I do really hope to see the home boy Dez Maarsen take the win. Haven't really looked into the list of street riders but also here I hope to see a Dutch rider on the podium.
In Heerlen next to the pro class, also Amateur riders have a possibility to ride the contest. Do you think it's a good opportunity for them to get a taste of a bigger contest?
Daniel Wedemeijer: I am a huge fan of amateur comps! It's so important for the future of bmx to have a podium where they can show their skills and progress in riding comps.
The Park course this year will be built by 040BMXPARK. Do you like the design?
Daniel Wedemeijer: It's looking great and for sure the big extended wall. Seriously can't wait to ride it.
From the 3D drawing, do you already check what lines are possible and what tricks you could do on certain parts of the park set-up?
Daniel Wedemeijer: To be honest I haven't really thought about it all. I will see how it goes in practice and then start working out the lines and tricks.
To get a group of Pro BMX riders together of this level is pretty unique. Why should people come out and watch?
Daniel Wedemeijer: Like you said it's not every week such big names in bmx are coming out for a comp in the Netherlands. And of course everyone should come and support the local Dutch riders!
Looks like there are some other Pro Freestyle activities happening in Heerlen (artshow, parties, other sports), do you have time to visit any of that?
Daniel Wedemeijer: I hope to visit most of the other events. It's always good to catch up with other sporters and watch their comp.
Last words: See ya all in Heerlen, Limburg, The Netherlands! BRAAAB
