and seeing if I could achieve them. So my placings weren’t that amazing this year, but I still feel like I had some good accomplishments.
What trick/move were you happy to pull for the first time this year?
Ryan Nyquist: I didn’t even pull it, but I’m still buzzing about trying the 900 in the deep end of the cement bowl at the Vans BMX Pro Cup in Australia. It has been a dream of mine to try one, and for some reason it just felt like the time to give it a whirl.
What BMX move stands out the most to you that somebody did this year?
Ryan Nyquist: The 360 Twix by Justin Dowell was pretty wild. Also most any fakie trick that Pat Casey comes out with.
Who had the best looking bike in 2017?
Ryan Nyquist: Me. Hands down. Hahaha!
Who had the best video/video-part that stuck out to you?
Ryan Nyquist: What’s a video part? Did you mean Instagram post? Hahaha! Because there are so many posts nowadays that could be put into a dvd.
What was your worst injury in 2017?
Ryan Nyquist: I sprained my ankle pretty good in Montpellier this year. Still kinda hurts.
Worst thing that happened while you’re on the road?
Ryan Nyquist: Airline lost my bike, delayed and canceled flights. It could have definitely been worse.
How many flat tires did you have the past 12 months?
Ryan Nyquist: Maybe 15??
Best meal you had?
Ryan Nyquist: Any cooked meal at home.
Best party you visited in 2017?
Ryan Nyquist: I’m usually in bed by 10. Hahaha! Actually at Simple Session, Rob Darden, Dan Foley and myself went out for some quiet ones and had some good conversations. That was really nice. The hotel at Simple Session is a party in itself. Hahaha!
Raddest person you got to hang out with this year?
Ryan Nyquist: Senad Grosic... in his hometown... in his wife’s dress.

Plans for 2018?
Ryan Nyquist: More BMX. More good times. Better riding. And pushing the limits of what BMX can do.
