What was the best event you went to this year that gets your vote?
Tom van den Bogaard: Antwerp City Drops in my opinion! Just love the vibe at Dirt competitions. Practice isn't that hectic as it is at a skatepark competition and everybody is smiling and laughing all day.
What contest placing were you stoked on this year?
Tom van den Bogaard: I was very stoked on taking the win at Pro Freestyle Heerlen because I just arrived 5 minutes before the contest started and only rode 2 practice laps. Rode some shows at another event that day so I couldn't be at the practice session.
What trick/move were you happy to pull for the first time this year?
Tom van den Bogaard: When I did a fronty no hander on the big step up and a 360 triple downside whip on the box after it in my Vitalbmx powerhour in 040bmxpark. Still really happy on how my Power Hour video came out!
What BMX move stands out the most to you that somebody did this year?
Tom van den Bogaard: Seeing guys having fun on their bikes! That's the reason we are all riding.
Who had the best looking bike in 2017?
Tom van den Bogaard: I don't want to be cocky but my new Tall order set up looks so tight!
Who had the best video/video-part that stuck out to you?
Tom van den Bogaard: The Haro Bikes edit of Dennis Enarson was fire!
What was your worst injury in 2017?
Tom van den Bogaard: I separated my schoulder one month ago. Luckily my shoulder is feeling a lot better now.
Worst thing that happened while you’re on the road?
Tom van den Bogaard: Last week in Malta the bicycle rack fell of the car with our bikes on it. Luckily no bike got damaged. And everything that happened on the road in China haha.
How many flat tires did you have the past 12 months?
Tom van den Bogaard: I think around 3 or 4 haha. Not too bad
Best meal you had?
Tom van den Bogaard: The sushi I had last Thursday with the 040bmxpark crew. All you can eat so I rolled out of the restaurant haha.
Best party you visited in 2017?
Tom van den Bogaard: The ones in Malta earlier this month! Haha
Raddest person you got to hang out with this year?
Tom van den Bogaard: Sebastian Keep. He is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. And all my Tall Order team mates. Can't wait to be on the road with them again.
Best thing you saw in 2017?
Tom van den Bogaard: Dean Cueson's superman tailwhip in Malta last weekend. Nobody does it better than him.
Plans for 2018?
Tom van den Bogaard: Having the most fun out of every bit of 2018! On and off the bike! I want to thank everybody who made 2017 as good as it was for me! My family, my friends and my sponsors! Can't wait what 2018 brings!
