-bmx video: Definitely Square One’s “Up in arms”. One of the first videos I owned as a kid. I still watch it at least once a week.
-website: Hands down BMX Movie Database! I love that there’s a database of almost all the BMX videos ever made, no mater how small/big the company/crew: bmxmdb.com
-web video: Well… anything that Declan Murray puts out is incredibly entertaining
-food: Anything fresh, I’m not picky
-person on instagram: Shaggy 2 dope of the Insane Clown Posse, his shenanigans crack me up.
-travel destination: I recently met up with Matty in the Shanendoah Vally. It was so incredibly beautiful, and the company was even better. I can’t wait to go back.
-riders to ride with: Oh man… one of the best things about BMX is the friends you make along the way… if I had to make a list of my favorites… it's gotta be… Dan Foley, Seamus McKeon, Shane and Dillon Leeper, Neil Hise, Latne’ Coghil, Derek Wilson, Darren Bolden, Declan Murray, Donovan Allen, Crandall… geez, it's hard to not just name off all of my friends. I think one of the biggest things for me is getting along with people outside of riding, it's like riding is just one aspect of our friendship. It's definitely a big part of it, but not the most important part of it.
-car: I've only had one vehicle since 2006, my buddy Tony gave it to me last year and the things a trooper. Not sure I'll get another one when it dies. Maybe some kind of camper or vehicle I can convert into something I can live in… who knows.
-movie: Total Recall (1990)
-color: Probably black, although I like brown and red as well. I'm also really drawn to pastels… I actually just really like colors, just depends on the context in which the color is used.
-shoes: I'm not particularly picky when it comes to shoes. I’ve been a dumpster diver for a long time now, and people throw out all kinds of stuff; including shoes. I wear a 10.5 U.S. and it seems to be one of the most common shoe sizes around here, so there’s no shortage of lightly used Vans, Nike, or adidas. You just gotta find them… lol
-bike company: FBM FOREVER!
-bmx contest: FBM’s diy world championships were a ton of fun! Getting to help build the ramps for the gnarrboro portion was probably one of the best times ever, and that lasted for a few years. Also getting to help Crandall make some of the trophies was a pretty big honor.
-bike shop: Back Alley Bikes in Carrboro NC. is probably one of the best shops in the known universe! I don’t know where I'd be without the friendship of Jason over there. When we went to him with the idea of building a ramp and having a jam he was stoked on it! Keep in mind Back Alley is not a BMX shop, they have some BMX stuff…but it's in no way their main focus. Jason was just stoked on fun and bikes! At one point a series of event led to me being homeless, and Jason was more than willing to let me sleep under the porch, what an awesome time that was! Building ramps out of trash where I was sleeping. Definitely a unique experience.
-restaurant chain: Olive Garden… although I've never eaten there…
-clothing company: Square one and Little Devil
-phone: I use an iPhone
-music: I like everything from country to hip hop. Lately I've been listening to a funeral doom metal band called Asunder, and Alan Jackson…
-ramp rider: I think my favorite person to watch ride ramps is either Sergio Layos, or Cory Walsh… they both rip!
-street rider: This one's really tough… but if I had to think about who’s influenced me the most and is the most fun for me to watch ride… it's gotta be Steven Hamilton! You can just tell he has the best time while he’s out shredding, no matter what he’s shredding.
-dirt rider: This one's a twofer, Garret and Adam Guilliams… I could just sit back and watch those two ride through jumps for the rest of my life and never need another thing ever… it's truly incredible.
-flatland rider: Scott Powell, I'll never forget the first time I watched him ride… I wasn’t even riding BMX at the time, I mean I had… but I didn’t have a bike of my own, and I spent most of my time skateboarding. I was probably 8 or 9 years old at Chenga (too young to actually be allowed to ride there) skating the flat ground, when he and another guy came out and started messing around… I was blown away, I had never seen anything like it.
-old school rider: Vic Murphy, I don't real have a solid reason behind why… I just remember seeing him hauling ass at everything and thinking that rules!
-drink: Water and coffee mostly. I also enjoy a big cold glass of whole milk.
-trick: My favorite trick is one of theses three, I can never decide… bunny hop, toboggan, or a real loose skid. I mean real loose, like completely sideways shitting bricks… that might be the best feeling there is.
-BMX magazine: Challenger
-bmx mc: Steve Crandall for sure. He’s such a smart ass, it cracks me up.
-video game: none
-bmx photographer: Man… I really like the pictures Todd Nicholes takes… but that’s a tough one… I'm just going to say Todd, and Neil, and Crandall, and Dillon… those are my favorites
-bmx filmer: Dan Foley, and Donovan Allen. Both really solid behind the camera.
-girl: My beautiful best friend and wife, Abigail Louise Cart! I've also got two cats and a dog, all female…so, my home life is full of sassy women, I love it.
-sport besides BMX: I like to skateboard, and roller-skate/rollerblade… but my favorite sport besides BMX is moving rocks… point A to point B and back. I kinda can’t get enough of it, there’s something about how hard it can be that makes it so fun. You can accomplish the same feeling with logs, well… anything heavy and awkwardly shaped will give you the same result…
-party: I fuckin love to party!
