Progression is key in BMX, how do you consider trying something new every time? Do you complete the trick in your head and then send it?
Kieran Reilly: I find I feel like I’ve had a better session if I’ve learned something or at least pushed outside my comfort zone and so that motivates me to be constantly trying new things, I usually just have

an idea when I’m off the bike. Not being on the bike you kind of forget how tough tricks can be and it makes you set yourself tricks to learn you wouldn’t usually think of and that gets me excited for when I do go to ride & try it!

You've probably noticed the attention that Charlotte Worthington and Declan Brooks got after returning from the Olympics. Is Paris 2024 a goal for you?
Kieran Reilly: the Olympics is definitely a huge goal of mine, made some big changes to my lifestyle and training in order to hopefully help me with competition riding in order to get to Paris.

You've gradually made your way into the vlogging world, what are the benefits of the Youtube channel?
Kieran Reilly: I honestly love making content. I find it’s another source of motivation, another reason almost to try new things and without it there’s a lot of experiences I wouldn’t have had!

How does it feel living like a BMX pro?
Kieran Reilly: THE DREAM! I did joinery full time for around 3 years and it really wasn’t for me. I hated that I couldn’t use all of my time and energy to ride and so once that became remotely possible I left my job and put everything into riding which is what I’ve always wanted. I wouldn’t change this for the world!

What's your local place to ride?
Kieran Reilly: Asylum skatepark & Adrenaline alley!

Would you go nuts if there's another firm lockdown where you'd not be allowed to ride for a month or so?
Kieran Reilly: If it was real strict and I couldn’t ride I would definitely be really bummed. Being able to ride less is still rough but going cold turkey again it’s really hard mentally watching others keep on riding on social media!

How do you spend time when you're not on your bike?
Kieran Reilly: I spend quite a lot of time in the gym, I do a lot of CrossFit training and I love it!

Have you missed the events during the pandemic?
Kieran Reilly: YES! Been putting in a lot of work for competitions and not had the opportunities to see how well it’s working yet!

What's on your schedule for 2022?
Kieran Reilly: Definitely competitions again! Fise etc, hopefully a lot more crazy content to be made and it’s a long shot but X-games is in Japan this year & that would be crazy!
