Out of a field of 34 BMX riders, Jeff Blevins won the BMX park competition and Nick Summerlot won the BMX vert contest Sunday at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour’s stop in Florence, Ky. Seventeen-year-old Blevins from Hamilton, Ohio earned the BMX park victory at Ollies Skatepark after executing a flip whip over the hip and a front flip transfer during his winning run. Kevin Teets was second and Keenan Gutler finished in third place. “This is awesome,” Blevins said. “I did the Gatorade Free Flow Tour before and didn’t even place, and now I get the chance to compete against the best at the Finals in Salt Lake City.”

When you are on the road for 2 weeks it is always nice to have a nice bed to sleep but not for the "LET IT RIDE" tour riders, they always want to party. The 4 Roadtrip movies were shown in a club called ARSENAL, the OJA of Kortrijk and soon the BMX'ers took over the club, Andy Zeiss was serving beer with Riccardo Moes, Ben Hennon was found behind the counter and no one cared, this is how it should be, Andy even had the code from the cassier! Team France won and our Dutch photographer Rutger Pauw made us proud to win Best picture of the tour so it was time to celebrate, or 
The Vans Let It Ride tour came to an end in Kortrijk this weekend as each team descended on the small town to compete in the Bowl contest on Saturday 6th June. The tour and contest were huge successes, showcasing what talented teams Vans supports across Europe. The Tour: Each group spent 10 sunny days on the road checking
There are so many things to say about that event, I don't even know from where I can start. Friday night, riders hooked up at the infmaous Lyon spot called « small place » for a photo session mixed up with a drinking party. The spot is also famous because of the slippery ground paved with various holes, but Lyon locals were joined by riders from the center of France, Alpines and some Parisians. The contest sounded hot! All riders have improved their level a lot lately and the cameraman had a busy time. A few hundreds pictures later, we decide to meet and drink with Lyon Street riders to celebrate a rider birthday in a downtown pub. All the infamous street riders from lyon were there like Mirraco rider Maxime Charveron. In the city, street and flatland riders are partying together! And a few pints later, we went to sleep most of the locals welcoming outsiders for the whole weekend.

The 2009 Fise Experience contest series had another stop last weekend. Italian stallion Alessandro Barbero grabbed another win and is well on his way to pick up that FIAT Qubo at the end of the year. As Steve van Doren was happy to share that Vans is the new sponsor for OS-BMX.com, it seemed only perfect to catch up once more with some old dudes at their annual reunion. After much success from last year's event in Long Beach, they decided to move to Peck Park in Arcadia, California for the '09 gathering... It was amazing how dialed and how many people were ready to go at 9:00am, Lord Voelker had his demo setup, the roach coach was serving a nice collection of junk food, the canopies were popped up and the bikes were out on display... Eddie Fiola, Martin Aparijo, Woody Itson, Steve van Doren and even Bill Allen (Cru Jones from Rad the Movie) showed up to show some respect to the good old days... I think you can just browse through some of these pics and the new generation of colorful bmx riders better realize that we did this color thing way before they were born... Michael de Wit

The teams had been on the road for 10 days when they headed for Belgium to the Let It Ride finals. With € 10.000,= Euros up for grabs it was up to the riders to rip it up one more time. It was an open contest though so anyone could enter. Some of the ripping locals were too star struck to actually ride in the comp. They should have because home advantage is something positive to have in a Bowl contest. The park kind of looks like SuperPark set up at the X-Games
