First off, congrats on your recent win in Estonia, Toronto, and the absolutely unreal web edits that have been dropping lately. 2010 is going to be a good year for you (or Drew Thousand Ten as I’ve seen lately)!

Last Friday, Josh Perry underwent brain surgery at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Fast forward one week and the good news is the tumor he had removed was non-cancerous. The question is now, what exactly does a full recovery entail? What sorts of things will Josh need to do before he even gets on his bike again? I caught up with Josh, his Mom (Chrissy Mucha) and some of his friends (Brandon Christie, Kelly Bolton and Drew Bezanson) to check in on Josh and find out what exactly the next few weeks will be like before he actually gets on his bike again. It’s a long road but anyone who knows Josh, knows he will be throwing big tricks in the very near future.

As Josh’s Mom, I’m sure you worry about injuries caused be riding. A brain tumor probably isn’t something you would have ever expected. How exactly did you hear of your son’s condition and how did you take the news?

Congratulations on the double frontie! Tell me a little about how you learned that trick. How many attempts did it take before you landed it? What was the hardest part about learning it?
Andy: Well, it’s something I’ve been playing with for a while now but just as a joke. Then that day I had the perfect ramp and a Motox foam pit right next to the jump. I tried like 3 in the pit and they worked out so I just took it to the jump. Took three tries on the jump and I was rolling away.

You are a rider who can pull huge big air bangers as well as plenty of super tech tricks. What are some of your favorite

Things seemed to have worked out for you since first time we met at the FISE in France. Your plan was to go to the USA after that and you never looked back. Can you take us through the last couple of years as far as places you lived at?
Dave: Yeah that was in 2003 then we first met. Since then I have spent most of my time in the states traveling back and fourth to Australia. I lived mostly in Corona, California, but then in 2008 I moved to Greenville, NC. It was good for a change but you just can't beat Cali so I moved back there at the start of 2010.
