Today we test the TSG Elbow and Knee pads. TSG makes lots of pads but these are the Slim VEP pads. They go under the clothing. I switched the little velcro band around that holds the plastic cap so the kneepad fit more comfortably. The plastic cap protects the technical foam. Crashing on purpose is not my thing and I have not crashed hard yet to give you the best test result. The knee pads are thin enough to go underneath your jeans without looking stupid.
The elbow pads slide on easy. The soft lycra skin feels good and the protection area is big, but not too big. These pads can also be worn easily underneath a long sleeved shirt or a hoodie. I like them and I hope I wear them when I have my next big crash.
-Philip2nd skin VEP elbow sleeve:The 2nd Skins are the best choice for riders looking for light and handy guards. Incorporated into the flexible Lycra sleeve is our new soft and visco-elastic VEP impact pad with a thin and flexible plastic cap on top. It prevents crushed rocks and other sharp objects from penetrating the foam pad. The easy-slide kevlar cap-coverage prevents abrupt stops.
TSG Slim VEP kneeguard: Our bmx pro rider
Patrick Guimez wanted a slim-fit, pre-shaped kneeguard that perfectly fits under tighter pants, without loosing on impact protection. The new soft visco-elastic VEP knee pad adapts through body heat and provides an excellent level of impact protection. Our custom horseshoe shape brings downshifting pads to an end. They are on sale now on the TSG web shop.
