Round 7 of the 2007 NBL Elite Series took place this weekend on the East Coast in Woodbridge, VA. One of the most liked tracks on the NBL Elite tour, Woodbridge is a very technical track, that is fast and flows very well. A recent rebuild has made the track better than ever and had the Pros raving about it all weekend.

With just 1 US round of UCI points left after Woodbridge, Saturday would be an important day for the North American ranking system for the pros. Here is how the BMXpros.com guys finished up: 

Dan Iller is the owner of Iller Enterprises and the inventor designer of the ProTonLocks. A Magnetic non-mechanical alternative to Clip/clamp-on fixed pedal locks for both recreation and competition riding.

Joetsu, Japan: TEAM REDLINE is proud to announce the addition of the REDLINE~JAPAN chapter; which is made up of some of the fastest Japanese racers and stars future 2012 Olympic hopeful MASA SAMPEI. The entire REDLINE~JAPAN roster reads like this:

The European UCI BMX championships started off with the first two rounds being held at Habay-la-Neuve in Belgium. With only two riders making both mains in the Elite men class it shows that this class is wide open. Henrik Baltersen (Denmark) won on the first day while Free Agent's Thomas Allier (France) crossed the finish line in first on Sunday. In the Elite women class Shanaze Read and Laëtitia Le Corguille took a win each. It was hard to stay upright on the hard packed track with a layer of dust over it. In a prelude to the Olympic debut for BMX, racers from all over the Globe converged on Spain for the first UCi Supercross event of 2007. With a wild ‘n crazy track, similar in many ways to what you’ll see in Beijing, China next year, the BMX world came out in big numbers. Amongst those were the Dutch Redline team; led by the guy who is no stranger to UCi points–ROBERT De WILDE. Aboard their custom Orange REDLINE FLIGHT bikes, the Dutch riders made their presence known; with DeWilde going all the way to the big show. Also in the main event was REDLINE~FRANCE racer and National team member DAMIEN GODET. With two out of eight bikes in the gate being Redlines, the odds were in RL’s favor.

After re-signing with REDLINE for the next 2-years, KIM HAYASHI is hot after her record-making 5th NBL No.1 title. With her focus on that accomplishment, as well as training hard to qualify for one of the 2 spots on the USA’s Olympic BMX Team, with ASU college classes and graduation thrown in between it all, Kim is definitely one busy girl. With the latest NBL point standings showing her with a 12 point lead over Canada’s Sammy Cools, we had a chance to speak with Lil’ Kim and get her take on the first quarter of her ‘07 BMX season.

ARIZONA [PHOENIX]: The ABA Winternationals was your first ABA race of the year. How’d it go for you?

The 2007 NBL Elite Series is heading towards an exciting finish and you just might see a few new names on the podium this year. Free Agent’s Cristian Becerine leads the Elite Men’s chase but 2006 Champion, Donny Robinson (Formula), has been quietly working his back to the top. Redline’s Kim Hayashi is holding on to the lead in Elite Women but Supercross’s Samantha Cools and Krystal Hime are closing in fast. Here’s a snapshot of the current standings:

More than 5.000 people enjoy Spain’s first World Cup in this discipline. Australian Khalen Young claims victory against the world’s best riders in a very tough final. Extreme sport is getting more and more important in Spain, and a big example is that 5.000 people have enjoyed the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup in Madrid. Although BMX is not a very known sport (yet), the Juan Carlos I Auditorium was crowded with fans cheering every jump. 

Along with sponsoring the entire Dutch National Team and putting on the Redline Cup Series in the Benelux countries, REDLINE, along with Batavus [Redline’s distributor in the Benelux countries] has also just signed on as an official sponsor of the Dutch site BMX-videos.com.
