Last week we drove nearly 8 hours to Bethlehem, PA for the 6th annual Women’s Weekend in the Woods. This was an event that escaped us every year because the timing was never right … until now, and this was also the year that I refused to have FOMO!
Firstly, I am amazed and inspired by Tasha Lindemann, a rider who recently took over the duties of organizing this event; and from first-hand experience, I watched her pour her heart and soul to make sure that this was going to be a memorable and special weekend for everyone.

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is pleased to announce that Ryan Nyquist (USA) and Nina Buitrago (USA) have been re-elected to represent BMX Freestyle Park riders on the UCI Athletes’ Commission, in a vote organised during the 2021 UCI Urban Cycling World Championships that took place in Montpellier (France) from 4 to 8 June. Ryan Nyquist and Nina Buitrago were chosen from among the five candidates – three men and two women – by the athletes registered for the event.
Nina Buitrago obtained 70.7 % of the votes for the female candidates, while Ryan Nyquist reached 39.0 % of the votes for the male candidates. The voting participation rate was 65.1 %.

This is a rough two part edit I put together for the ladies of BMX and our time in Malaga, Spain at the Vans BMX Pro Cup May 5-7th, 2017. All footage was shot on iPhone 7 or a GoPro of some sort. The first part is highlights of each of us from both the regional qualifiers and women's demo at the Skatepark of Malaga, and the second part is a little spot mission a group of us went on immediately after we rode in our demoi. 15 year old Hannah Roberts made history at this spot becoming the first female to do a barspin AND tailwhip the legendary hook spot.
