The National BMX Hall of Fame has just announced the Final-5 nominees for this year's Hall of Fame voting. After receiving hundreds of public nominations since January, the Hall of Fame committees have narrowed it down to the final five nominees. From here, a group of over 500 people (made up of previous Hall of Famers, BMX historians and Industry vets) will vote to decide on the final Inductees will be. This years' Inductees will be announced on July 1st. While making it this far is a huge acknowledgement in itself, one lucky BMX legend in each of the five categories (Pioneer, Racer, Industry, Freestyle and Woman).
The National BMX Hall of Fame induction ceremony is scheduled for Saturday evening, September 27th - in front of the Olympic flame, at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. The festivities take place following the UCi Supercross World Cup finals,
OSBMX was an awesome event. Such a relaxed atmosphere for the whole weekend. Everyone was still shredding hard. It was nice to see that age is just a number. Look at guys like DMC. He's 47 years of age and still killing it harder than ever. He even just got 2nd on Vert in Shanghai. Mike Dominquez was bumped up to the Haro Veteran team alongside with Dennis McCoy on the Saturday night dinner at the Lodge.
