Al Dimino wanted to inform everyone that Hackettstown park has been saved by skate 57. The folks at skate 57 out of Philly have taken over the park. The new management is awesome and they have already added some new ramps and will continue to revamp sections of the park, props to them for keeping the park a float as we all need a great place to ride and have fun. The new owners have asked me to have a bmxinvasion event to kick things off. I will be hosting the "bike to school" contest on August 27th, 2005 a Saturday all day event. I recently tweaked my ankle so I'm down for a few weeks recovering and figured this would be a good time to shout out to all of you for a request to supply some products for this event rather than make it a last minute request. The new owner Brandon is a cool dude and is down with bmx. I really appreciate it that he has taken over the park along with a few friends in order to keep it available for riders to enjoy. The a/c is working again! I am looking forward to see you there.
The days are counting down to 1664's STREET JUSTICE V Competition! Riders have already started to arrive in Edmonton, to session all the new skateparks and hot spots before the event. The ramp crew has been hard at work putting in 14 hour days for that past 2 weeks to make sure this years course is better then ever. The prizes are in and the cash money is counted! To much info to list here, so get all the details by checking out http://www.1664bmx.com/sj05.htm
We would like to invite yo to the 3rd annual OG Summer Gypsy Games Flatland Contest and Camp. The event is perfect for everyone who prefers events with really relaxed atmosphere and friendly vibe. The location is situated in the Transdanubia, just above the lake Balaton. From the Austrian border you only have to drive around 100km to reach the city. We chose this city just because all the circumstances are perfect for a relaxed comp and camp: everything is really close, cheap, and quiet, it has great pubs and nice environment. The courts are located in a school, it looks like a small kind of park.
Location: the city of Ajka, Hungary /cca. 150km from Budapest to the west/, Vorosmarty iskola /secondary school
Date: Camp 1-5 August, Contest 6-7 August
Classes: Expert, Master and Pro

The 2nd stop of the Dew Action Sports Tour was last Friday in Denver, CO. Scotty Cranmer rode great in practice and great for 58 seconds of his 60 second qualifier run (ended up qualifying 2nd). He smacked his head pretty hard on his last trick of the qualifier, 60 seconds at Denver elevation can make you a little tired. He got checked out by the medics and was cleared to ride the final a few hours later that night. In his 2nd run of the finals he went for the flip double whip and came really close to pulling it, really close. He really wanted to pull it and went for it again, this time hitting his head again, knocking out a tooth and earning himself a ride to the hospital. Scotty rode in the ambulance and beat us there, when they were checking him in he was acting so goofy they thought he was drunk and gave him a breathalyzer test... Outcome was a broken tooth, scrapped up face and a concussion.

We might as well do some self promoting by announcing this summer's FAT-JAM date. Saturday 20 August is Paul's Birthday and also the main day of the annual jam that will go deep into the night.
Everyone is invited to do some riding on the Sugar Hills trails at the Valkendijk on Saturday and feel free to bring the drinks and the barbeque. The chilling factor will be high once again in Aarle-Rixtel so prepare for that. Starts at 14:00hr.
Saturday night will be the Heavy Metal party at OJA. Dress to impress. Black t-shirt, tight jeans, white socks and sneakers. Wigs and make-up are allowed. Get ready for the Metal classics. Those who remember the night at the World's in Portimao in 1998 know what they've got coming. Better get ready for this. Beers are 1 Euro per bottle and if you have never been to OJA before, it's time to come over.
