miles from here. He was the MC and picked me out of the crowd for the bunny hop show together with some others and RL and Mike did their jobs. It's something I remember till today like it was yesterday.
Scot was the first one really to organise a BMX tour so all of you doing road trips with your BMX bikes, make sure to give the O.M. some credit for it. Scot was thinking big and at an early age got BMX inside of the LA Colliseum for the Yamaha Gold Cup race which had 16.000 people in the stands. Later on in life the BMX Pioneer produced TV shows of all sorts and stayed connected to the BMX scene in one way or the other. Scot was inducted to the USA BMX Hall of Fame in 1990.
The O.M. went through some tough times but looked to be on his way up again. Here's a mail I received from him dated 20 August 2012 when he was crawling out of a deep hole and looked for help trying to sell his SE cruiser:
- Looptail Frame, AXLE TABS IN GREAT CONDITION, NEVER MOUNTED WITH OUT WASHER KITS.
- Landing Gear 1" Threaded x 5" stem, with SOLID tabs, and New (in 82, DID NOT COME ON ANYOTHER FORKS TILL LATE 83) PROTOTYPE END CAPS WITH MY NEW STAMPED SE STRETCH LOGO) with washer sets...(RARE RARE LANDING GEAR..)
- SR Alloy Hubs 4x laced to Ukai rims, both sponsors at the time... both true and straight...
- OM Inverted Pro Neck Stem, blue
- Tange 1" threaded headset
- Comp III 24 x 1.75 rear tire
- 13/16" seat post

Hopefully you've found your peace Scot. Thanks for creating BMX for all of us. R.I.P.
