Byron Friday was there from the beginning of Bicycle Motocross. He just sent in a photo of the First Generation Downhill Bike from 1976 to show you what it was like to be a BMX-er in the seventies. He mentioned: "I raced at Randal Ranch Downhill - Best Downhill Track in So California. Going from a very short Toptube Webco hard tail to this bike was like my friend Johnny O'Show's Works HRC bike - total dream ride!"
Note: Despite the monster hoops - this bike was remarkable nimble and quick.
