To promote the GT BMX Heritage brand, licensee of GT BMX’s Heritageline Alans BMX, are running a UK-based race team for 2017. The small - but perfectly formed team - was launched at the Manchesterindoor track and comprises: Top row: Karl Sanderson, John Bentley, Alan Woods (TM), Josie McFall.Bottom row: Joe Parr, Jay Fairbank. “I knew that it would be cool to recreate that Dale Holmes-GT era fromaround 1999 for this project but when we got the frames back from paintand the jerseys, I can’t believe how into it everyone was. This was such aniconic period for GT that just so many people relate to - and to get WD40on board (one of the main sponsors in-period) as well, was the icing on thecake and with their new WD40 bike line the timing was perfect”.
A few sponsors are still to be announced, but we have the support of:CSG/GT Bicycles, Box BMX and Lake Cycling (via Moore Large), WD40Bike, Tioga (via Extra UK), Vans, Thor MX (via Madison), 100% (viaDecade Europe) and RSD who are making our jerseys”. “I’m stoked that we still have support of many
of the companieswho supported us when we ran the Alans BMX/Shimano DXR team backin 2006-2010 when we won the British Cycling No.1 Team awards for threeyears straight”. I am really looking forward to seeing the riders out on the track with theirfinished bikes and kit and I’m grateful for the riders and the sponsors for believing in this. The team will all ride current model Speed Series alloy frameswith the exception of Jay Fairbank who will be on a Carbon Speed SeriesXL.
