GT's UK transition ripper, Jay Cowley split to La Poma skatepark near Barcelona to sample their trails and skatepark setup. Needless to say, turndowns get clicked.
TECH COMBOS AT HEIGHT - JAMES JONES - GT BMX
GT adds French shredder Sullyvan Guaincêtre to their roster. Johan Poyet, Freestyle Team Manager at Frenchys-Distribution, is pretty stoked on Sully’s move to GT Bicycles: "Sully fits greatly with GT BMX: he takes his riding seriously but keeps a huge part for the fun which matches very well with GT philosophy, fun is serious business. Sully surprised everybody with his edit during Sosh Urban Motion 4. He now lives in Montpellier, and his riding keeps on evolving . It is always a great pleasure to witness his creativity expressed through his tech and original lines."
Dan Conway goes all in for his ender section in GT's "Seriously Fun". Dan took some diggers while filming this section, but all those big rails, kinkers, hubbas, and ledge/rails stand no match for this savage.
Rob Wise made a brief hiatus from BMX pro late last year, but his section from GT's "Seriously Fun" DVD shows that Rob hasn't slowed down one bit. Going backwards up a wall rail is complete absurdity, and that over-grind on the wire!? Rob is an savage animal on the Bike and we were stoked to have him along on the GT Taiwan trip earlier this year. Rob only films bangers!
Nobody rides quite like Albert Mercado. Al has a casual swag in his riding that shines through even when he's doing odd-ball NBD maneuvers. Creativity, spot use, and one hell of an invert make every Albert Mercado section a good one, but this one is especially good. Filmed in California, Connecticut, and Taiwan.
Jeff Ludwig is raw as hell and his section in GT's "Seriously Fun" is a refreshing display of rough as grinds on metal pegs, 60/40 & 40/60 setups, and classic East Coast style street obstacle shralping. It's hard to put it into words but Jeff's riding has a feel to it, and you can't say that about just anyone.
Jason Phelan brings the heat in his section from GT's "Seriously Fun" DVD. From large drops to jiby street maneuvers, JP has the tech skills as well as an eye for large scale setups, making this section a well-rounded enjoyable watch.
GT BMX - SERIOUSLY FUN. It's here!!! GT is currently premiering their new 20-minute DVD "Seriously Fun" right here on the site for 72 hours! The video is amazing, from Brian Kachinsky's BANGER opening section, to the sleeper Rob Wise section, grind technician Jeff with Glasses' part, Albert Mercado's light-hearted and uber-creative section, or the savage Dan Conway's HEATER of an ender. There are also appearances from the rest of the team like a short but sweet section from Jason Phelan, and a mix from the AM and flow crew.
The squad has been going in for the last year from coast to coast in the US, to Brazil, France, Germany, the UK, Taiwan & more, so this is sure to be amazing. GT selected BMX industry videographer and editor Andrew Brady to bring Seriously Fun to life. It was Brady’s overall passion and excitement for the project which made him the main man for the job.
