The world’s top BMX riders gathered in Tossa de Mar, Spain this weekend, 5-7 October, to ride the Street, Flatland, Park and Dirt features of the incredible Europark set up during the 6th Annual Vans Rebel Jam. Saturday’s qualifiers narrowed the field for Sunday’s Street, Park & Dirt finals, and the flatland finals took place in an isolated cove on the seaside, with some spectators crowded around the platform, sand in their toes, the others dotted high in the cliffs overlooking the action. In early October, shops around the world will receive the latest release in the year-long celebration marking 20 years of the most popular skate shoe of all-time, Steve Caballero’s signature Half Cab. Ricardo Laguna is hosting a charity dirt MTB & BMX contest in Lake Havasu, AZ on Oct. 27. The event is to help raise money to build a memorial skate park honoring Patrick Tinnell, a Lake Havasu local who used to ride and was killed while on duty in the armed forces in the Middle East. All of the money that will be raised will go towards building this new park that will benefit the kids.

RL: "This is the first year we're holding this event, and we're expecting the 3,000-seat arena to be packed with spectators. We've already confirmed that Pat "Big Daddy" Laughlin, Colton Satterfield, Josh Hult, Ben Snowden, Matthew Olsen, Jake Kinney and TJ Ellis and many more will be competing, plus Fat Tony will be announcing!"

Sign ups are open online where you can save money by registering in advance. Pro sign ups are $40 online, $50 at the event, and Amateurs are $10 online, $15 at the event. Check out the course layout to see the Pro and Amateur lines!

The Vans rebeljam has moved to Spain this year. The contest will be held just one hour north of Barcelona, along the coast, at Eurocamp. With the private beach, the campsite, pool, a killer park, and trails all in one spot, it's going to be a big BMX Fiesta. These guys have signed up. Don't miss it.

The world’s top BMX riders are traveling down to Tossa de Mar in Spain this weekend, 5-7 October, for a BMX contest created specifically for the riders. The result is some of the most progressive BMX riding on the planet. For the first time in rebeljam’s history, the event will have riders enter four BMX freestyle disciplines; Flatland, Street, Dirt and Park. Qualification rounds start on Saturday. Finals are scheduled for Sunday October 7th.

The event will take place at Eurocamp, a popular ramp park that was started by Axel Jurgens a little over a year ago. New ramps are being built specifically for the big weekend and the dirt jump section will be extended especially for the rebeljam. After the event the ramps and dirt jumps are going to stay for the Spanish scene and Eurocamp visitors to enjoy. This is part of the rebeljam’s philosophy, always searching for a way to support the BMX scene. Monster Energy’s Andy Buckworth (AUS) will make it to Spain for the first time and will enter both the park and dirt competition.

The results of the The Hunt video comp came in, and Eddy Zunda won best video part. Best Trick in Park went to Zombie Chris Hughes with a Body Varial. Best Street Trick was for Corey Wiergowski with a triple kinker uprail to barspin. Haven't seen The Hunt yet? you will if you're going to the Rebeljam this weekend.

Brett Banasiewicz crashed during practice on a 720 at the LXVI BMX Invitational presented by Vans in Virginia Beach, Va. on August 23. He was placed in a medically induced coma to control bleeding and swelling on his brain, and while he is no longer medicated, he remains only semi conscious. Earlier in the year, Banasiewicz had signed up for the Athlete Recovery Fund's Medjet Membership program, meaning medical transportation was completely covered on Monday September 24th when he was moved to one of the nation’s best rehab facilities for Traumatic Brain Injury.

A fundraiser will be hosted at the final round of the Recon Tour on October 6th at the Krause Family Skatepark / Mission Valley YMCA. Competitors and attendees can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win one of two complete MirraCo bikes, and prizes from Monster Energy, Hookit, SPY, Pant Saggin Designz, Bell Helmets and more.
