Beware 'zine's Peter Fastenroth celebrated is 40th B-day last Friday in someone's living room in Cologne, Germany. Peter has been a FAT-JAM regular so Paul and I just had to make a short party trip over to Cologne to join the party. The Kiosk that the party was held at looked a lot like OJA but on a bit smaller scale. The Aarle-Rixtel street sign in the corner made us feel like home. In fact, the shield was a B-day present for Peter, he had received the same present when he turned 30 ten years ago. When it was all wrapped up Peter thought he was getting a new snowboard but out came the Aarle-Rixtel sign. Much better.

Cincinnati, OH – Failure Bikes adds one of the most unique and talented Vert and Park riders to its roster. Chad Kagy has joined the Failure Team for 2007. Chad brings a level of riding to the program that speaks for itself, proof be told since taking home X Games Gold in last years Vert competition, appearing on the Tony Hawk Boom Boom Huck Jam and being a top 3 vert competitor in the Mountain Dew Action Sports Tour. Chad is one of the most progressive Vert and Park riders in BMX today, and his list of accomplishments and non-stop schedule is a testament to his dedication and love for BMX. Whether its on a vert ramp at the X Games or just riding with friends at Woodward Camp, Chad remains one of the most down to earth guys we know, except for that part when he is upside down 10ft above the deck in front of 15,000 screaming fans on one of those U ramps…Anyway everyone over here at Failure is excited he is on the team!

It's an odd time in the industry when you can win the biggest comp of the year and still can't get a bike sponsor...

The inscription deadline for the contests at the Bike Days has been extended to April 20th. A professional Racetrack as well as a dirt-line are being purpose-built fort he event and will host a series of top-level competitions (a.o. BMX-Race and BMX-Dirt). A completely even and roofed surface will be provided for the flatland BMX contest. We are thus offering the chance to effectively represent the bike world.

First Local Support Challenge on April 21st 2007 at the Abflughalle in Grevenbroich, Germany. In 2007 the T-Mobile Local Support program will be continued. This year’s focus is again on the support of local scenes. Special highlights are the three T-Mobile Local Support Challenges, which will include the disciplines BMX/MTB Dirt Jump, BMX Miniramp and BMX Street and offer the participants the chance to win support for their local spot. 

This is not a Bmx-Contest... this is a fight... a clash... an ultimate battle... 16 of the best riders from Germany and Austria... the best clubs... the best parties... The Battle in da Club tour, Germany`s first and one and only Bmx Flatland series, will be as extensive as never before with 5 stations in 2007. As you can guess, every tour stop take place in clubs of course. But not in any club, no! Some of German's & Austria's best and hottest club locations are elected to be part of this national series. 16 of the best Bmx- Flatland riders from Germany and Austria will be invited to ride in a head to head battle mode.

The winner will get the prize money, material prizes and even points for the ranking, because at the end there can be only on who will win the tour and earn some extra money and stuff. And as if that wouldn't be enough, at every tour stop the hottest live-acts and djs will perform at the after- show party. From famous Hip Hop artists to crazy Electro djs, they all will rock the party! 

Props is running a little contest for the next tour... win a spot as a roadie on the upcoming 2007 Road Fools Rock-n-Roll Tour Presented by Levi Strauss Signature with LUCERO and THUNDERLIP....that's right Props are going to be giving one lucky winner an all expenses paid chance to go on the first 4 days of the tour and haul gear, pack trailers, wrap cords, push gig boxes and carry rock stars bikes and some bands instruments....oh yeah you might also get to ride your bike and hang out with 15 of the top riders in the sport...

During the Bike Week Tilburg 2007 the Liberation Jam will be organized in co-operation with the Tilburg Liberation Festival. The festival will take place on May the 5th 2007, in the center of Tilburg. The festival attracts 15.000 to 20.000 spectators/visitors and offers a combination of music, lifestyle, culture and sports. The Libertion Jam is a best trick contest, with a set-up like the Red Bull Bridge Masters. That means there's a roll-in, followed by a jumpbox with a landing, followed by a quarter. At 16 o'clock the best trick contest will start. Each riders has several runs and at the end a jury (and the crowd) decides the winner... 

Things are heating up here at the Phoenix hotel. Arm wrestling is going on. It will be moments before the cops come. Everyone's getting there so it's good it's the last night at this hotel. Dhers got beat by Dillewaard (Australia) and when it was Aussie - Aussie it was three times dirt X-Games champ Bohan beating 2005 Dew Tour champ Guettler. Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi. We are told to calm down otherwise the lobby/bar will be shut down. Wish we had live noise. Bring it! Dhers against Napolitan right now. Mirra is the judge. He's suggesting left handed. Over the course of 15 years, Hoffman Bikes has seen the likes of many team riders come and go. Mat Hoffman and Hoffman Bikes have always been a big supporter of what is best for them. So, after six terrific years, Ryan Barrett is moving on. We cannot express enough how much we have enjoyed having Ryan being a part of the Hoffman Bikes family and how he will be missed.
