Michram Industries has been a sponsor of mine, running his chain rings for two years now. As a fellow Australian company, I really wanted to support local and ride for a local brand. We decided that we wanted to collaborate together to introduce a new stiffer and stronger "OWT" Optimal Weave Technology. My main key points when designing the rim was, I wanted to have it represent my love of clean lines and stealth black with a unique finish. We came up with the hand-woven layered design which to me has a real military, camp stealth vibe. As a world champion, I wanted to make sure that it was world class quality and available in all 20-24 inch rim sizes, as well as the strongest, stiffest and lightest rim combination.

Niels Bensink and Drew Mechielsen win the Dutch qualifier for the Red Bull UCI Pump Track World Championships. Boyfriend and girlfriend will qualify for World Final in 2021 together. On the track of Velosolutions at Wielerexperience in Roosendaal, about 100 men and women competed for the Dutch title Red Bull Pump Track on Saturday. A pump track is a track that most resembles a BMX track. The track is undulating and with many curves. By applying the right technique and properly shifting your body weight, you don't or hardly have to pedal to move forward.
In the men's group, the four best riders were two Dutch and two French. BMX World Champion Twan van Gendt eventually finished fourth. Niels Bensink took the win.

When's the last time you took your bike to the track?
Wouter Segers: Actually yesterday in the morning, I had a track session where we should have our nationals in a few weeks time.
Have you missed riding your bike during the Covid-19 situation?
Wouter Segers: In the beginning it a was struggling with a small injury so I couldn’t ride my bike anyway, but after a few weeks of lockdown I think every BMX rider wanted to go back to the track as soon as possible. So yeah I missed riding my bike a lot during those days!
Are you often picked to try out new parts for the team?
Wouter Segers: Most of the time my dad is the one who comes with the new parts so then I am the obvious choice I guess. But I really like to do that kind of testing so I don’t mind being the first, and I
Australian Olympic BMX cycling hopeful Kai Sakakibara, suffered a major crash on Saturday 8 February 2020 during the opening heat of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup in Bathurst, Australia. Kai underwent surgery the next day to relieve pressure on his brain following the serious crash and was in a coma for 8 weeks. Initially, doctors were not confident he would survive but he fought hard and he continues to make strong progress in all aspects of his rehabilitation.
Due to his extended stay in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and extensive rehabilitation requirements, Kai’s medical bills are expected to be substantial even after his insurance is applied.
Kai has always been and continues to be a positive role model to many kids and adults, not only in Australia but across the globe. Kai would always make time to sign an autograph or have a photo taken or just to have a chat. This is what made Kai such a popular person amongst the BMX community and why so many of us have been impacted following Kai’s crash.
Southlake Illawarra BMX Club (Kai’s home BMX club) and Ace Race have come together to create a memorable #KaiFight77 jersey that represents everything Kai. We want to continue to support Kai and we believe this jersey will achieve that.

Bensink End of Era jam. Niels Bensink organised an awesome “last” jam at the Bensink Gates compound. Niels is moving to Canada with his girlfriend Drew Mechielsen beginning next year and Albert Bensink is ready for his retirement so this could be the last serious jam. But you never know what will happen to the trails now Stefan Groothuis the former World and Olympic speed skater found his way to the dirt jumping scene with his sons so he might be the next Bensink trail caretaker.
