The 2012 Redline Cup Series will begin in the east region at Thrifty Acres Indoor BMX in Greenville, Michigan this weekend on January 14. The qualifying series will feature races in the east, central, and west regions of the United States and Canada. Qualifying for the finals will conclude at Grand Valley BMX in Grand Junction, Colorado, August 25. With the qualifying series spanning over 8 months and featuring 24 qualifying races in the central region, 27 qualifying races in the east region, and 25 races in the west region, this 76 race regional series is sure to have a qualifying race near you. 
It feels like yesterday, the thought of 2008 BMX’s Olympic debut. Its been four years since MTN/Qhubeka BMX rider Sifiso Nhlapo competed in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games where BMX was being show cased for the first time. Skizo at that stage had the pressure of the nation on his shoulders as SA had not won a medal yet, the Olympic dream came to a dramatic end for the young South African crashing in the second turn in a possible medal position. 2009 seemed to be the year Skizo would bounce back and was consistently making finals and winning in Europe till Nhlapo crashed in training before the last round of the European Championships and broke his neck, fracturing his C3 & C4 vertebrae. Skizo spent the next 10 months with rehab, physio and getting fit as his goal was to race the 2010 World Championships in PMB in front of his sponsors, fans, family

2012 has kicked off with a great start winning the first 2 Australian National Series UCI rounds of the year. Nerang is always a fun event, its the first event of the year, its good to see everyone again and get back into the swing of things. The Nerang track recently bitumened the corners and made some changes to the track. It was a hot and sticky weekend with temperatures up in the 30's.
