George Dossantos is a killer street rider from Northern New Jersey. As a BMX-er yourself you might be aware of that. What you might not know is that George is a killer bass player too. He's in the "Words Away" band. We fired over some band/BMX related questions. When you're done reading that, you can listen to a few songs of the band and watch their video of the song Move On.
What is your occupation at the moment?

So where shall I start. We are already 2 months into the season and a lot of things already happened.
First I’ll start with sponsor/ business changes and things like that.
-10% Pete Dylewski has been dropped by Pacific Cycles also known as the owner of GT, Schwinn and Mongoose. He was pretty much running the bmx program the last 2 years for them. I was very surprised to be honest with you and I wasn’t the only one. Pacific has been working on their support program the last couple of months. They dropped some truck drivers and hired some new drivers to replace them. John Agnew took Pete’s place so that means he is working for the GT again. He worked for GT back in the late 90’s. He drove the truck around the country for them. He did clinics and he made sure the pit was always dialed at the races.
The people at Impact Skatepark have found another reason to throw a party. On Saturday 19 March next, the Great Birthday BMX-JAM will kick off at 6pm. It's possible to ride the park until midnight for 5 Euros and that includes a free Barbeque! That's cheaper than eating at McDonald's and you get to ride the park for 6 hours.
Next to the free BBQ there's also a band playing called Poor Boys. I never knew Steev Inge played in a band...
Call the Impact skatepark at +32.(0)3.776.46.96 for more info if you need it. The party address is: Lindenstraat 46B, 9100 Sint Niklaas.
Barry Kohne and Dwayne Verkade are organizing a 3 series BMX street competition over in Holland. Round one took place on Saturday 12 March at the Promise park over in the South of Holland. With the park located 10 minutes from the German and 10 minutes from the Belgian border, it saw some strong interest of these two countries. In fact, after the 8 groups of 3 pro riders finished the jam session format qualifying, 7 Germans and 1 Belgian had to ride once more in the XL Series finals.
If you're not aware of the Promise park, it has something for everyone. It has spines, ledges, sub boxes, jump box, wallride, rails and a pyramid with plenty of transfer possibilities. Barry had another crazy fufanu beam installed for this contest but in the end it wasn't even touched.
The Expert class at the Soulcycle XL-series started off an hour late at 13:00 hours. Still some riders did not arrive in time which shows once again that it's hard to start off a BMX freestyle contest in the morning. The max capacity of 50 entries was reached and every rider got one run to try to qualify for the finals. 15 riders out of the 50 were taken and we saw some very good talent in the expert class finals. It was sad to hear that for some people it takes complaining and video footage to convince an organization that the rider belongs in the final, but it happened. They're in there for the wrong reasons. Winning isn't everything, having fun is.
A lot of German riders had plenty of fun. X Martin X (Sponsored by Durex) and Captain Dotterbart (with the most Neon front wheel ever) understood what the comp was about. Dotterbart even made the final and scored third place with a huge wallride and plenty of grinds on the rail. 5th place went to Leroy Kleppe, the Belgian kid with the white helmet who did

Girls have been asking for naked dudes on BMX bikes so we feel obliged to deliver. Large Ray helped out this month. Should get the girls satisfied. Boys, no worries there's something for you too. Eduardo Paredes and Miguel Medina of the Street Riders BMX Club must have surfed the whole web to find titties with some sort of bike in the background. Enjoy.
