Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, the Red Bull UCI Pump track World Championships Qualifiers took place. It was a great event with awesome people and epic athletes! (And lots of Red Bull. I only had 2 so I was only slightly electrified) Watch how some of the fastest BMX riders take on this 100 meter concrete pumptrack and put down lap times of around 10-11 seconds on the board. Some of the BMX pumptrack heroes on track were Aiko Gommers, Elke Vanhoof, Robyn Gommers, Christelle Boivin, Kristaps Veksa, Elias Verbinnen, Sjoerd Verhelst and Aurélien Vaessen! It was an absolute pleasure meeting you all and watching you perform. That speed on that street style pumptrack was nothing short of incredible! PS: Elke Vanhoof had me ride her BMX on that pumptrack. Let me tell you: last time I rode a BMX was like 15 years ago, last time I rode a bike was 7 years ago and let's not even talk about the sensation of the curve of that track. All things considering I managed to do half a lap of the pumptrack without falling over. It took me about a full minute... Okay, it took 2 minutes. I won't be joining these people in the championship showdown in Portugal anytime soon I guess.

When I first got into FPV, one of my lofty goals was to one day get a call from a brand like Red Bull to ask me to fly for them for a commercial or an event like this... 2 years later, this actually happened. I'm having trouble expressing how much of a life achievement this was for me. Being validated by the brands that you looked up to for the better part of your professional career. This is HUGE for me.
