BMX specific shoes are worth looking into. First because they are designed for BMX and second because it puts budget back into BMX. The Vans 114s come with the BMX sole with part waffle, a designed section to absorb impact (the heel) and the middle section to provide maximum pedal grip. The Pop Cush insole provides comfort and the raised Waffle Cup BMX rubber section on the heel adds to the strength of the shoe. Kevin Peraza is one of the many Vans riders who use the 114. Between the National Racing Series, the National Freestyle Series, the STACYC World Championship Series, the build of the new Tulsa-based USA BMX Headquarters - Hardesty National BMX Stadium, the launch of ABA ETHOS, and the significant growth of the USA BMX Foundation, the American Bicycle Association family of organizations successfully closes 2022 season. “2022 will go down in the BMX history books as possibly the most important year we have had in Tulsa,” said Shane Fernandez, USA BMX President. “Twenty-five consecutive years the Grands has been hosted in this community coupled with the first year the USA BMX headquarters has been open and hosting events, we have found our home for the sport of BMX. Since opening our HQ in February, we have seen more than 40,000 visitors, hosted the first foundation mentoring program, welcomed thousands of middle school youth for spring and summer camps, and hosted the first Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at its new home. We are grateful to Tulsa for supporting USA BMX’s vision of growing the sport of BMX while using education, bikes, and mentoring programs to reach those who need it most.”

We've been running into X-mas messages and have yet to create a "Happy Holidays" care of our own. But in the meantime we'll post up the ones we've received and came across. Ours probably won't be as fancy as some, but it's the idea that counts. We made it through 2022 and are glas we could get back to normal life after covid. With some restrictions left and right it was a year full of BMX events back on the calendar and we used every single opportunity to get to them. We covered races from all over the world. We pumped around a bit in circles and had fun at the BMX Freestyle competitions that were back once again. Jams, check. Parties, check. Sessions, check.
We've got 35 years of covering BMX behind us now and are the longest running BMX media around that covers all aspects of BMX. Proud of it? In fact, yes a little. As many have found out, it's not easy to keep things rolling on the daily for that long. 2023 is upon us and we'll keep going, regardless if the money is there. Regardless if BMX business is booming or not (it isn't right now).
