When practice was over they got to work on the track and tried to get it ready for the weekend. Saturday morning the track was a little better but still not in the best shape. I had my best weekend ever, so things went good! Here is how things played out.
Elite Saturday; With 64 riders we had a big class and many riders who could win. We had all the top Euro stars with a handful of Top USA AA’s ready to go. With the track still being really soft the 2nd straight was really hard to jump, I think Allier and I were the only riders to jump it. Moto one I finished 4th, moto two 2nd, and same in moto three. I had a good gate in quarters and finished 1st! In semis things went good and I was able to get 2nd. Now time for the main event. Here in Europe you get to pick your gate by how you did in the last round. Since I got second I was 4th to pick (since there is two semis that is how it works). I chose lane 4 and was ready to go! The gate dropped and I was up near the front, I went into the first turn in second! All of a sudden the rider in front of me slid out and I ran right into the back of him, flipping over the bars. Then all of the other riders ran into us and I think 7 of the 8 guys went down. I was able to get up and finish 5th for the day!
Elite Sunday; the track was much better, and a lot faster! In motos I rode good and finished 1st, 1st, and 1st! I had a stacked quarter but was ready to go! I came out of the first turn in 2nd and stayed there the whole track! In my semi things went even better! I was able to make a move in the first turn for 1st and never looked back. Time for the main event!! I got the best start I had all weekend and was able to get a really good first straight! I went into the first turn in first place; going down the second straight I hear USA Rider Tyler Brown and Thomas Allier. Over the jump into the second turn I saw his tire and knew he was coming. I was able to shut the door and stay out front for my first ever Elite WIN!!
This was for sure my best weekend in my career! Everything seemed to work out! Now I’m in Switzerland for one more week then off to France for another great indoor race! Hopefully I can keep things going! I would like to thank Avent/Bombshell for all of their support! Talk to you soon,
Tyler Brown
