Cycling Power Rankings. Long and Herman, the top U23 men in the power rankings, and Sharrah, who sits atop the junior men’s rankings, received coaches’ selections to the funded team for Madrid.
The women’s funded squad will include Arielle Martin (Spanaway, Wash.), Ashley Verhagen (Simi Valley, Calif.), Amanda Geving (Largo, Florida), and Brooke Crain (Visalia, Calif.). As the top elite female rider in the power rankings, Martin was an automatic selection to the funded team. Verhagen, Geving, and Crain received coaches’ nominations to the team based on their performance at the first USA Cycling BMX Women’s Development Camp which took place at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif., Feb. 22 – March 4.
