Saturday saw the return of GT Bicycles own RANDY STUMPFHAUSER, Randy came back to the track in full force to take the win in AA PRO and PRO Cruiser on Saturday and followed that up on Sunday with two seconds In AA PRO and Pro Cruiser. “DR” DONNY ROBINSON never disappoints either, “DR” has been all over the podiums this season in Both AA PRO and Pro Cruiser. On Saturday Donny brought home Second place in both classes and backed that up with a WIN in PRO Cruiser on day two. Avent/Bombshells JARRETT KOLICH was in the mix all weekend as well. Jarrett was a solid third in AA PRO on Saturday, but the high light of his weekend and possibly PRO career has to be Sunday. Jarrett rocked the house and brought home his first ever ABA AA PRO win ever! This marks the second time this season that one of the “New Breed” PRO’S have made their mark in their PRO ranks. CMC’s Jason Rogers also continues to impress the masses. Jason has been concentrating on AA PRO and PRO Cruiser this season and has continued to make his mark. Jason has made every PRO main in those two classes this season. Jason is the only AA PRO to make ALL of his mains this season and that is a HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT with the level of talent that is out there this year. With a third both days in PRO Cruiser and a solid third in AA PRO on Sunday, it’s only a matter of time before the smooth talkin’ Texan will take his first AA PRO win.
Mongoose rider ERIC "BIG DADDY" RUPE showed everyone that you can never count him out by taking the win in VET PRO on Sunday. Big Daddy is no stranger to the winning races and will always be a factor for the title come ABA GRANDS time.
The comments on the track the ABA crew built for the racing weekend were nothing but positive, and the races were nothing short of spectacular. Newly turned A PRO JOEY (THE BOMB) BERTHIAUME and TIM "TNT" KNEIP would take the wins for the weekends of A Pro class, the other Pro classes featured different winners each day.
ABA would also like to wish HARO’S AA PRO Jason “J-Rich” Richardson a speedy recovery from his injury. We wish him and his family all the best.
The ABA Sooner Nationals is proof that ABA BMX Racing is alive and well, and by the looks of hit the 2006 ABA Pro Series is going to be very off the chains! Check out www.ababmx.com for the current ABA Pro Points. The next ABA Pro Series Race will be March 17-19 at the Great Northwest Nationals in Pasco, Washington. We hope to see you all there!
