Basically there were two classes that mattered; the MX 1 and the MX2 class. During the GP in Brasil 2 weeks ago Antonio Cairoli raked up the MX 1 title on his brand new developed 350F KTM. 100cc less than the competition, but easier to handle as the Italian demonstrated all year long. The World Championship title in the MX2 class was still open prior to this second to last motocross Grand Prix. Marvin Musquin had the best papers coming to Lierop but in a mechanical sport it ain't over till it's over. But the Frenchman claimed the title after the first moto which gave the orange KTM camp a reason to celebrate halfway through the race.
Antonio Cairoli's title got celebrated too after his first moto where he finished second behind team mate Maximilian Nagl. It was a good year for KTM winning both titles and the challenge now lays in the USA. With the recent hire of Roger de Coster don't be surprised to see the orange bikes get on the podium a lot more in 2011. World champion Marvin Musquin is making the step to the USA too.
The Dutch GP (or better, the Grand Prix of the Benelux) is over. News was announced that it will be back on the 2011 GP calendar for the first September weekend of 2011. Expect another GP report from Lierop next year. The event is on the schedule already.
