laid-back race for professional riders. Although the event has no bearing on national points, the Sprint Trails Race is unique in that it's a showcase of the best of the best in BMX and a great opportunity for those riders to go head-to-head in a pressure free event.
Last year's race, which was won by Randy Stumpfhauser, received a great deal of exposure from the riders, spectators, and media alike. A flat pedal event, the Sprint Trails course features a groomed, technical two-lane course with tight corners and little room for error. The 2006 Sprint Trails Race will include an eight-foot roll in at the starting gates and a trail style course, ensuring virtually no pedaling for the competitors once they drop in. Dwayne continued, "Since DC makes shoes ideal for flat pedal riding, the obvious way for us to support racing is by having a flat pedal event like Sprint Trails. There will be no advantage to "clipping-in" on this course; it's purely the riders' skills that are going to earn the win."
The event is coming up quick and there is an open invite for Pros.
