The second of five races in the 2011 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup series, the event in the Netherlands is the fifth World Cup event to count into the 2010-11 UCI BMX Ranking season. Future stops on the 2011 UCI Supercross World Cup circuit include London, Great Britain, Aug. 19-20; Sarasota, Fla., Sept. 16-17; and Chula Vista, Calif., Sept. 30 – Oct. 1.
The Papendal Supercross event is open to all elite and junior-level riders holding an USA Cycling BMX international license and riders must be born from 1994 or earlier to be eligible to enter the race.
The UCI BMX Supercross World Cup series offers significant international class 2 ranking points that affect an athlete’s individual international ranking, and contribute to a nation’s ranking, which is the primary factor in determining the number of start positions a country receives at the 2012 Olympic Games. The Papendal contest is also the seventh race to be factored into the 2010-11 USA Cycling BMX Power Rankings.
