This is the second consecutive year that the Toyota Challenge will host the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup Finals. Over 80 athletes from 15 nations will participate in San Jose, most notably newly crowned World Champion Javier Colombo (Argentina), Bubba Harris (USA), Mike Day (USA) and 2006 UCI Mountain Bike 4Cross Champion Michal Prokop (Czech Republic). Robert De Wilde of the Netherlands, who won the event in 2005, is currently recovering from a broken collarbone sustained just 4 weeks ago at the UCI BMX World Championships in Brazil; however, he is hoping to compete in San Jose.
Admission to all competitions, the Festival Village, and the Friday night concert featuring The Roots with opening act Dilated Peoples is included in the daily ticket price for the Dew Action Sports Tour's Toyota Challenge. Friday through Sunday, a daily adult ticket is $15 in advance and a child's daily ticket is $7.50 in advance. At the door, tickets are $18 for adults and $9 for children. Tickets to the Toyota Challenge on Thursday, September 7 are $7.50 in advance or $9 the day of. A four-day pass to the Toyota Challenge is $20 for children and $40 for adults.
