GT Bicycles fast femme fatale from France, Manon Valentino future US Olympic hopeful Jordan Miranda both earned hard fought for and coveted wins at the UCI/USABMX Super Nationals this weekend in Desoto Texas. Valentino came to Texas to use the race as a warm up for the upcoming UCI SX event in California but did a little more than that by winning the Elite Womens class against a talented field of international competitors on the first day of the event. Manon backed up the win with a 2nd on Sunday after battling through the pack that included the 2011 USABMX #1 woman
Dominique Daniels. The great performance will add to Valentino’s momentum going into the upcoming UCI SX event in San Diego.
An equally impressive performance was exhibited by US teammate
Jordan Miranda. Desoto was the first race back for the Bakersfield California native after recovering from a serious foot injury in October that left the 18 year old with a plate and pins in his heal. The time off rejuvenated Miranda in
his comeback by taking wins both days in deeply stacked
Junior Mens class which is the platform for future Olympians to prove themselves. Jordan proved
that he and his 2012 GT Speed Series XXL are forces to be reckoned with.
Other honorable mentions go out to Frenchman
Quentin Caleyron with a 6th in Elite Men on Sunday and some very impressive racing from Dutchman
Martijn Jaspers.
The team will take a short break and will convene on Chula Vista California on March 30, 31 & April 1 for the next stop on the USABMX schedule and the first event of the 2012 UCI SX season.
