Racing round 2 of the UCI BMX Supercross series in Norway gave me some more confidence after my injuries… Because of the weather issues in Norway the organization decided to organize the UCI BMX Supercross round 2 indoor, so they would be sure they didn’t have to cancel it. They actually had a great, new indoor facility that’s big enough for a nice BMX SX track.
Together with GSX, the organization did a good job, not only because of this great facility, but also on the track. This track had some nice jumps and decent turns made with bricks. For people outside Europe those brick turns were something new, but we are used to that, because we see that at many outside tracks in Holland.
Practice started on Thursday. I felt okay, but had some issues

keeping my bike low at some of the steep jumps on the first and second straight, because I didn’t know what to expect. Every time when I hit those jumps it felt different, so it was hard for me to jump the way I suppose to… Anyway, on Friday I had a better feeling on the track, so I was ready for time-trials.
During my first time-trial I made a mistake at the first jump, because I oversh

ot it big time. Luckily I could make up some time at the rest of the track and got top 16, so I had to do a second lap for overall points. My second time-trial felt way better/ faster than the first one, but I knew it wasn’t a perfect lap. I was the fastest for a few minutes, so I could sit in the hot seat till someone else was faster than me. Finally I got 8th in time-trial, which was really close to the others that were faster.
Saturday racing started of pretty good with 3 heat race wins. My starts weren’t the best, but I had some good speed on the first straight. Unfortunately my starts gave me problems during the quarter and semi final. I could save my quarterfinal because I had a smooth inside line into the first turn and got 3rd place, but during my semi final I couldn’t get in the top 4. I felt more confident and rode more aggressive than in Chula Vista, but I just missed the final and know where I have to work on.
This week I’m just doing my training program and next week we have the Dutch Championships in Klazinaveen.
