Ikonix SX1 Prototype Race Bike Debuts at Design Museum in London. Here is a spy shot (by Sean Hargraves) of my prototype Ikonix SX1 race bike I've created for the Designed to Win exhibit at the Design Museum in London. Here's some spec on the Ikonix SX1:
-Frame / Ikonix Carbon Fiber frame
-Fork / Ikonix triple-clamp fork with carbon fiber fork blades
-Wheels / Concept carbon fiber 6-spoke wheels
-Chain stays + triple clamps / CNC machined 7075 Aluminum
-Sprocket / Ikonix
-Brakes / Magura MT8
-Cranks / Shimano DXR
The Ikonix SX1 prototype bucks traditional BMX thinking and judging by the feedback it's received its creating some controversy with the BMX purists. While most feedback has been positive to thinking differently I've managed to push some out of their normal BMX comfort zones.
The Designed to Win exhibition is a must see if you happen to be in London and special thanks to Oakley for the invitation to debut my new bike along side many state of art machines like Williams F1 cars, Tour de France bicycles, Adidas Olympic footware and other high-performance sports equipment.
