These last few weeks I’ve been busy with visiting my mom, doing some training/ physiotherapy, catching up with some old friends and even did a spinning marathon for a kids muscles charity… Not much news lately, because I’m still in rehabilitation due to a broken collarbone 4,5 weeks ago… My shoulder is starting to feel better and more comfortable doing things. I started physiotherapy last week, just doing some easy movements without any weights. It’s really difficult for me to take it easy, because now it’s the time to do other kind of things than just BMX, but unfortunately I’m not allowed duo my shoulder.
My mom is in the hospital for over 4 weeks now. She made some small steps in the right direction, but she has a very long way to go! Luckily my mom is mentally very strong and because she’s starting to move her core, legs, arms, shoulders just a little bit, she is getting some more confidence… Every small step forward is taking much energy, also breathing by herself. She
can be of the breathing machine for 1 hour and 45 minutes 3 times a day. When she is of the breathing machine, she is able to eat soft food and she has to learn how to talk again! We are very happy with all these small ste
ps in the right direction and now we hope she can go to a rehabilitation centre soon.
Besides training my legs and core muscles these last few weeks, I had some time to catch up with some old friends, which was nice! I also travelled to Denmark, to see my girlfriend for one week, because I don’t see her much. She is living there to play handball.
Last week I did a 3-hour spinning marathon for kids muscles charity (kids with muscles problems/ sickness). Spinning for 3 hours is damn heavy, especially with my shoulder, a weak wrist and stomach cramps! Anyway, it was fun and had a good training session.
Tomorrow I will travel to Curacao to do some BMX clinics. I never been to Curacao, so I’m looking forward to go and have a nice time with the people over there!
