now here. I have been trying to build a foundation in my country to help people, trying to speak with boys – they can also achieve what they want if they really work for it.”
The aim of her recent trip to Salzburg was to build up expertise and to evaluate her own skills in order to perform even better in 2013 and turn the year’s challenges into successes. “I expect that the DTC (Diagnostic Training Centre) will help me know how I am right now and what I need to work on to be a better athlete. I also want to focus on the psychological side of things in order to have a stronger mind.”
The DTC training sessions included a complete biomechanical analysis of Mariana’s movements, reflexes and overall physiological condition. “I am doing some tests to see how my body is at this point so we can improve something for this year. It’s hard but it really helps to know what I can improve on.”
Pajon will use these activities to take her career to the next level and become an even more competitive athlete. “I will be racing 13 races in the US. I’m also racing five World Cups and the World Championships in New Zealand as well as some local and national races in Colombia. It will be a lot. I love travelling and doing races all around the world. I just enjoy being on a bike. This season I want to improve my body skills, do my best and have fun – – that’s what it has always been about for me.”
