A good start to 2013 season for Stay Strong as this weekend over in France our rookie French Elite rider Leopold Tramier who finished 3rd at the World Championships last year in Junior Men managed to grab his first Elite win in the Pro Open at Caen Indoor in France. 256 riders lined up in the first round of the knockout event and
Leopold’s consistency got him into the main where he took his opportunity in the first turn with a big swoop coming out in first and holding it to the line for his first Pro victory. Normandy TV had broadcasted the event live
and Leopold got good coverage for his sponsors with some after show interviews.
Kyle Evans had also been on form winning plenty of laps but missed out in the semi on Saturday night. Sunday Kyle was out to redeem himself and going into the main looked a contender for the win. He battled with Quentin Calyeron into the first turn and crashed on the exit in second place. He finished 8th but was not injured which after his recent surgery was the main concern. Still a good outing for Kyle who is preparing for the upcoming World Cup in Manchester on home turf.
Meanwhile over in Spain the season kicked off with their first national rounds in Campello. Our new signing and current Spanish Champion
Pablo Galan took a win and started his year off with the top step of the podium on Sunday.
Latvian signing
Rijards Veide is currently based over in California training with
Maris Strombergs and will be racing aboard his new GT x Stay Strong bike for the first time this weekend in the Pro race in Pheonix Az and heading out the Oldsmar FL national before returning back to Europe at the end of March. Our Brazilian Elite rider
Rogerio Reis will also be heading to Florida for Oldsmar National before the first World Cup round.
Jordy Van Der Heijden is also training in California preparing for the upcoming races and will debut his season with the UK National and Supercross Open in Manchester in March.
