European Leaque. We had 2 races during the weekend. For me it was also a test if my lower back holds up for 2 intensive days of racing. I felt good on day 1 (Saturday) winning all my races till the main event. My start was really good in the final, but somehow I lost some control at the bottom of the starting hill which slowed me down at the first jump. There was no space in the first turn to keep up my speed, so I was back in 7th place and couldn’t pass anybody.
Sunday, race 2: My body didn’t feel too bad after a though first day. Did a small recovery ride in the morning and went back to the track in the afternoon. In practice I didn’t felt as strong like the day before, but I know that means nothing. I easily won my motos and 1/8 final. My body slowly got more tired and my lower back started to hurt a little bit (which make sense right now). 2nd place in the quarter final was okay, but in my semi final I almost crashed at the starting hill during an elbow fight with another contender. I lost too much speed in turn one, so I couldn’t jump the whole Pro-section. Game over…
I wasn’t satisfied about my results this weekend, but I know I’m going in the right way with my training program, because I showed everybody that I’m one of the fastest riders on the track in Zolder.
While I’m writing this race report, I’m in Manchester for round 1 of the UCI BMX Supercross (World Cup) series. Looking forward to race at the indoor facility over here. You’re able to watch it live this weekend (Saturday evening) at: www.bmxlive.tv
Keep you posted.
