BMX Australia appoints Sports Communication Australia to media role

BMX Australia has been appointed leading Sydney-based sportsPR company Sports Communication Australia to a fulltime media management role. The media management role will include a heavy public relations, event media management and social media focus, with Sports Comm Managing Director Dave Lyall heading up the account and assisted by an account director.Sports Communication Australia provided media management for BMXA at the 2014 Subaru National Championships in Shepparton. BMXA General Manager Mark Louis said the partnership with Sports Communication Australia was one that made sense for BMX in Australia.
“Dave Lyall and Sports Communication Australia come to BMX with loads of experience working with National Sporting Organisations and providing event media management for a host of sporting events across the country,” Louis said. “There is little doubt the next few years leading into the Rio Olympic Games are shaping as the most exciting in the sport’s history and we are committed to
providing our members and stakeholders with the best platform and support to tell the BMX story to the public.”
Dave Lyall said he and Sports Communication Australia were thrilled to be able to work with BMXA.
“We see BMX as one of the most exciting sports in the country,” Lyall said. “The calibre of both the elite athletes and administrators at BMX Australia is one we feel presents a wonderful opportunity for both Sports Communication Australia and BMXA to grow together.”
