How many racing kits do you normally have during one season of BMX racing?
Nic Long: Probably 10-12 jerseys and 4-6 pants.
What career number is printed on the back?
Nic Long: 64- Always
What do you look for in protection gear? Comfort? Weight? Quality? Pricing?
Nic Long: Would mostly be about feel and whether or not It fatigues my muscles during a lap.
How does it feel showing up at a race with brand new gear?
Nic Long: Just simply makes you feel PRO.
What happens to your old gear at the end of the season?
Nic Long: I try to (and enjoy) giving it out and doing some sorts of fun contests
Do you change lenses much in your goggles?
Nic Long: I hardly wear them these days I guess.. but never really did in the first place
You ripped your gloves. What do you do with them?
Nic Long: Tend to throw them out on the last straight on that lap to the fans.
Do you save a jersey yourself from each season?
Nic Long: Not on purpose, though my mom usually gets one to keep for me.
What’s a product you can advise every rider to use?
Nic Long: The 6D helmets... the technology is not even fair to other companies. Beyond next level.
Do you think certain protection gear should be mandatory or do you leave that up to the rider himself/herself to decide?
Nic Long: I think head protection is key, so like I said above.. 6D should be the standard.
Any advice to the BMX racers out there?
Nic Long: Wear a good helmet, keep your hands on the bars when you crash, and keep your cooler full.
