2005 UCI BMX SUPERCROSS WORLD CUP - RACE PARAMETERS
If you want to take part of the UCI BMX World Cup races, you better read the following info. It's got the details about classes, pay-out, registration, ranking etc.
Race classes & criteria’s
Combined class for Elite Men & Junior Men (17 Years and older). Riders must carry an international license issued by their National Federation. (US riders shall carry a NBL license)
For the 1st round of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup (Aigle, Switzerland), the Time Trials Qualification is open to all eligible riders (as mentioned above).
For the 2nd round of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup (San José, CA USA), the Time Trials Qualification are only open for Elite Men/Junior Men that have that have scored UCI ranking points (minimum 1 point) during the 2004/2005 ranking season, as well as riders that have qualified (to quarter-finals) in previous editions of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup.
Pre Registration
All riders must pre-register through their national federation. (US riders shall contact National Bicycle League).

Time Trials Qualification
Each event will have a time trials qualification event, held day 1 of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup event. The time trials qualification will be two single runs for each competitor where the top 48 riders will be qualified for the Saturday event based on their best lap time (out of two). The time trials qualification will also determine the seeding for the rounds in Day 2.
Transfer system
48 Riders are transferred and seeded according to the position gained in the time trial qualification, and will be seeded into eight 6 rider 1/8-finals (1 run).
32 riders (the top 4 riders in each moto) from the 1/8-finals shall transfer to four 8 rider quarter-finals.
The quarter- finals will be featured over 3 rounds, where the top 4 riders in each group with the lowest overall points shall transfer to two 8 rider semi-finals.
The top four riders in each semi-final shall transfer to the final.
The lap time in each run will determine the gate pick for the next run. Fastest lap time have the first gate pick.
Race Numbers
Race numbers will be randomly selected, except for riders holding a 2005 international race numbers who will be given their international number. Number plates will be supplied by UCI and handed out at the registration office.
Ranking points
The UCI BMX Supercross #1 will count for points in the 2004/2005 UCI BMX Ranking. The 2nd round of the UCI BMX Supercross will count for points in the 2005/2006 UCI BMX Ranking.
Prize money schedule
BMX SX #1: 9200 Swiss Francs Prize budget
BMX SX #2: tbc
BMX SX Overall: 15.750 Swiss Francs Prize budget
The prize money won be riders will be wire transferred (in seven days after the event) to each rider’s federation. Each rider can thereafter collect the prize money through his/hers federation.
