Papendal will host the UCI BMX Racing World Cup 2022 for the 10th time

This year eight UCI BMX Racing World Cup races will be held at 3 locations. Here the Dutch riders can score important points for the UCI ranking. Two of those World Cup competitions will take place at Papendal on 11 and 12 June. This is the 10th time that the organization of a World Cup is in the hands of Papendal. A UCI BMX Racing World Cup round will be held on both Saturday 11 June and Sunday 12 June. Friday is reserved for training. A new class has also been added: 'under 23', which means that 2 extra finals (U23 men and U23 women) have been added in this class on both days. This new class offers riders the opportunity to compete in the UCI BMX Supercross series without having to race the Elite riders right away. The format is the same as that of the Elite riders.

With the addition of this new class, riders will have a greater chance of reaching the final.

Jochem Schellens, director of sports center and hotel Papendal: “The fact that we can organize the UCI BMX Racing World Cup #OpPapendal for the 10th time already says a lot about the confidence that the UCI has in us. We are of course extremely proud of that. This top sporting event offers a wonderful stage for our Dutch drivers to compete in their own country and for their own fans.”

The other venues for the 2022 UCI BMX Racing World cup are;
-Rounds 1 & 2: 28 & 29 May 2022 in Glasgow
-Rounds 5, 6, 7 & 8: September 24 & 25, October 1 & 2 2022 in Bogota

Simultaneously with this sustainable top sport event, the Zomervreugde Festival will take place right next to the BMX track, where we make the connection between sport & culture. Thanks in part to the collaboration with the Province of Gelderland and the Municipality of Arnhem, we can again count on a successful edition.
